Does SPS manufacture my goods?
For production orders of 200 pieces per style we recommend our trusted vendors. We are able to entertain what our clients often consider “small productions” or “sample orders” on a case-by-case basis, subject to availability of our workshop calendar.
How does SPS help me with manufacturing?
After development is complete, we take your purchase order and create a set of documents to accompany your patterns to production. Which documents we provide depend on what your project requires.
After these documents are complete you take them to the production facility of your choice, or we act as an agent for you at several production facilities. We call this service “Production Direction”.
What is Production Direction?
We assess your needs and the requirements of the project, select a vendor , and have a sample made for your approval of quality as well as procurement of a production price. Once production is off and running we can continue to call on your production on your behalf.
How do you bill for Production Direction?
Production Direction services are billed hourly. A log is kept on your project and billed monthly. We act as an agent, so you will open an account with the chosen vendor and pay directly for services performed outside of SPS, including sample sewing fees and production costs.
Will I need a deposit for my production?
Yes. All of our vendors require a 50% deposit when your goods are delivered to them.
How do I find out how much it will cost to manufacture my design?
Your production piece price will be determined after your design is entirely developed and ready to be made. We will ask your cut and sew facility to sew a pre production sample from your final production pattern in order to provide pricing.
What are factory minimums?
Production begins at 200 pieces per style. We work with several contractors that are able to accommodate smaller orders, however these orders are considered “sample orders” and pricing is higher.
What can be made in Seattle?
We work with contractors who handle knit and woven fabrics, heavy and light weights. Almost any sewn product can be made here.
Does SPS work with factories overseas?
All of our patterns and supporting documentation are digital and can be emailed anywhere. If you have a factory that you are currently working with and need assistance, please feel free to begin a conversation with us about your needs. We have resources if you are looking for an overseas production facility.
