How do you bill for your services?

All of our services are billed at our current hourly rates. Rates will be listed in your copy of our engagement letter.

If you have a sewn product development or manufacturing need that is not listed here, please inquire. We have been doing what you don’t want to do since 2009.

How do I know how much my development will cost?

Development is a creative and technical process that occurs in stages. Your development costs depend on where you are at in your process. For example, do you have existing patterns and garments, or are you starting with an idea and sketches? The focus of our initial meeting will be to determine the starting point and provide an estimate for the initial steps of your process. At this point we can give you a rough idea of what to expect after that first step, but because each step is determined by the previous step, it is only possible to provide estimates in stages.

How do you develop your estimates?

Every project is different, and we have experience in a wide range of projects from ready-to-wear apparel, activewear, undergarments, and costuming, to horse blankets, soft luggage, and handbags. Our experience informs how we develop your estimate: we take into account known factors unknown factors. We keep a time log for every project and bill actual hours. If we encounter a situation in your project that makes it look like we are veering off course of the estimate, we inform you and work together to find a solution for moving forward that works for all of us.

When do I pay?

A 50% deposit is required to schedule your project and the balance is due upon delivery. For ongoing projects with established clients, we bill monthly.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We appreciate your cash or check. We can also bill through paypal, however please note that these transactions are subject to an additional 5% convenience charge.

How is my project scheduled?

The SPS calendar is first-come, first-served and scheduled in advance. After we receive deposit and all goods necessary to complete the first step, your project is put into our queue. Once completion of a stage or iteration occurs, the next stage or iteration will be scheduled at the next available opening on the calendar. At any given moment, the SPS calendar experiences varying lead times that are wholly driven by the advance nature of our scheduling and our adherence to already promised deliverables.
